Gordon Malin, from GP Electronics in Lower Hutt, will be our guest speaker for this month.

Gordon services electronic equipment generally, not just computers, but he will concentrate on the latter for his presentation and will even mention some of the earlier, pre-PC machines like the Commodore VIC20 and the Sinclair ZX80 and 81 and how the approach to servicing computers has changed over the years.

He also has some delighful anecdotes from his many years in the industry, so this meetng should be a lot of fun and something definitely different from the norm.

Hutt meeting, Monday 9 August 2010

Monday evening’s meeting will feature a comparison between two small, and relatively inexpensive, video cameras. On the one hand David will bring along his Dick Smith’s FLIP model while Arthur has a Sony, of which he has a high opinion. The pair will point out the differences between the two models and the perceived advantages and disadvantages of each.

For those members interested in buying a video camera but who do not want to spend a lot of money on it should attend this meeting and find out who of the two has made the better choice.
